I know with all we are facing in today's world, barns may not be at the top of the list. I would like to challenge you and myself, not forget them.
If you live in a growing area where bulldozers and back hoes are creeping out beyond the edges, further into the country. It is common to see them clearing old farmsteads. If you see a barn in the way. Stop and ask? What are you going to do with the barn? Sometimes planting a seed is all it takes to save a barn.
I wonder who saved the barn in the Ivan Creek development outside of Franklin, TN. Who was this barn's HERO? I would like to shake their hand / fist bump. The barn is surrounded by million dollar homes. When starting this development, someone asked, what are we going to do with the barn? And then someone made the decision to integrate it into the new neighborhood. The Ivan Creek barn stands proudly and well preserved near the entrance of this awesome development. I think it is beautiful.
Do you have any great barn saving stories? I would love to share your story, to inspire us all
"not" to forget barns.
