Arlington Acres is no stranger to adversity. After all, who starts a business in a barn? You have to be made of a little determination, combined with optimism, vision, creativity and throw in the desire to save the centerpiece of the beloved family farm.
It may sound like a stretch to some, converting the barn into a wedding venue. But the first wedding was held on this property in 1904 when Katie’s great-grandparents Berdena French and Jesse Garret were married on June 23 in front of the bay windows in the present farmhouse.
Converting the Barn into a wedding venue seems logical? Right!
But what happens when the world shuts down because of a pandemic? Arlington Acres has multiple family members, of multiple generations wrapped up into the running of a the Barn Wedding Venue.
Just like the generations before, on this farm...when a drought happens they get creative, come up with plan B or C? They pull together to save the farm!
So.....they created a drive-in movie theater on the barn? Huh?
It offers entertainment for all, with safe social distancing!
This makes my heart sing to see pictures of this awesome barn! Who knows, it might inspire you to save a barn and come up with your own plan B or C?
